SCOUTING FOR FOOD SUCCESS
A big THANK YOU to the Bay-Lakes Council Scouts, families, and volunteers who participated in this year's Scouting for Food drive. Because of your hard work and dedication, over 350,000 pounds of donated food was collected, resulting in a 39% increase! We also want to thank our community members for their generosity and support of Scouting for Food.
We have been blessed with amazing support from our event partners – Paul’s Pantry, St. Joseph Food Program, Sheboygan County Food Bank, Fox 11, and Festival Foods. Together, we distributed food to more than 100 food banks in Eastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Thank you for helping to support our neighbors in need!
MESSAGE FROM THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT: ROD GOLDHAHN
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK: APRIL 19-23, 2021

This is a week made for Scouting. From unit leaders who give their free time to camp or conduct an activity, to committee members who keep the machine financed and running smoothly, to commissioners who tie resources to needs, to the parent who may be unable to commit to a full role, but is there to drive or to help when called upon. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things to help our young men and women experience new horizons and learn skills and values that will guide them for the rest of their lives.  <Read more.>

FINAL THOUGHTS...TRANSITIONS AND TINKERING
For the past 15 months, we’ve published this Guide. Our initial goal was to re-establish regular and useful communication with across our Scouting community. We sought to be the go-to email where you could find information and links to Bay-Lakes Council Scouting. It remains our mission to be fresh, timely, dependable, informative and useful. But we do not want to be email clutter, too long that you simply pass us by.

With this issue, we share something new: the Top Five Things you should know. Brief, but with links for your continued reading. Similar to how we present the Council Key-3 Leaders’ messages.

Yet, still retain the links to the always-updated Council Program and Training Calendars, so you have quick access to information that you can use anytime.

Till we "meet" again: Scout on! And, be safe and stay healthy!

In the Spirit of Adventure,

Warren Kraft
